Speaking at the meeting, Minister Laid Rebigua expressed his condolences to the Vietnamese Party, State, Construction Industry, and people of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He led the Algerian delegation to Vietnam to attend the state mourning of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and brought a letter of condolences from the President of Algeria to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.
Minister Laid Rebigua noted that Vietnam and Algeria share a strong traditional friendship and cooperation in trade, diplomacy, agriculture, industry, and construction. This partnership is facilitated by the Vietnam-Algeria intergovernmental committee, which has held to discuss various cooperative initiatives.
Minister Laid Rebigua hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics and trade, especially attracting Vietnamese organizations and businesses to cooperate and invest in product development and trading in Algeria.
As the chair of the Vietnam-Algeria Intergovernmental Committee, the Ministry of Construction will continue to promote cooperation in the agreed areas and implement the agreements and MoU, enhancing the bilateral relationship.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi thanked the sound sentiment of Algeria for the deceased and said that the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a great loss to the Party and State of Vietnam, leaving behind endless sadness and grief.

At the 12th session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in Hanoi recently, resulted in 15 draft memoranda and commitments to regular delegation exchanges to strengthen mutual understanding, especially in the key areas finance, industry, education and training, agriculture… The Ministry of Construction will continue to closely follow and encourage relevant parties to effectively implement the meeting minutes.
Additionally, locality-to-locality cooperation has been strengthened, exemplified by a twinning and cooperation agreement between Dien Bien province in Vietnam and Algeria's Batna province.
As the Standing Agency of the Vietnamese side of the Vietnam - Algeria Intergovernmental Committee, the Ministry of Construction will continue to closely monitor and promote cooperation with Algeria in the agreed areas, implement the Minutes of the 12th Meeting, contributing to promoting good relations between the two countries.
