On July 16th, 2024, in Hanoi, the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport coordinated with the Korean Embassy to Vietnam to organize the Korean – Vietnam Urban Development Innovation Forum with the participation of a large number of business leaders in the construction industry of the two countries. Speaking at the Forum, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that in recent years, the Vietnam - Korea cooperative relation has continuously developed extensively in all fields from politics, diplomacy to economics, science and technology, culture, sports, tourism. The two sides maintain the exchange of many high-level delegations, especially the recent official visit to Korea by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, which has achieved many important results, creating momentum for the development of economic cooperation, trade and investment in the coming time.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized the need for construction, urban development as well as housing development, including social housing in Vietnam, and affirmed that the Ministry of Construction always supported and created favorable conditions for Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam, especially in urban development investment, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic development plan.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his belief that the Korea - Vietnam Urban Development Innovation Forum will create a connection channel and establish new business investment cooperation opportunities; contributes to further promoting the investment and business participation of Korean enterprises in Vietnam, thereby making an important contribution to the cause of innovation, integration and development of Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sang-woo said that recently, Vietnam and Korea have officially upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This shows that Korea and Vietnam are in a close and strong friendship and cooperation relationship.
At the forum, Minister Park Sang-woo said that, urban development is very important for every country, including Korea and Vietnam. On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, Korea and Vietnam have done many practical events which strengthen the cooperation in many fields. Signing a Memorandum of Understanding on urban development and housing will be a milestone for continuous cooperation activities between Vietnam and Korea in the near future.

At the Forum, signing memorandums of cooperation between businesses of the two countries took place. In addition, experts and speakers from the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport presented many presentations in the theme of innovating Korean - Vietnam urban development such as: Vietnam's construction policies; orientation and strategy for urban development projects in Vietnam; presentations on Korean urban development, smart mobility and support for Korean construction cooperation.
