On November 23-25, 2022, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue led a high-ranking delegation to pay an official visit to the Republic of the Philippines. This is the first visit to the Philippines by our country's leader in 2022 and by the Chairman of Vietnam National Assembly after 16 years. The visit reflected Vietnam’s respect for the new leadership of the Philippines and the countries’ strategic partnership, especially after they celebrated the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2021 (July 12). It is also a vivid demonstration of the traditional and sound friendship between the two nations, including their legislative bodies, helping strengthen political trust and promote bilateral cooperation in different fields of economy, trade - investment, health care, education - training, and defense - security.

Accompanying National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue by Minister of Construction has an important meaning in encouraging and creating opportunities for Vietnamese construction enterprises to penetrate the market of supplying construction materials to the Philippines in the context socio-economic development after 2 years of the Covid epidemic and huge demand for construction materials including cement.

Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi witnessed the signing ceremony of business cooperation agreement between Vicem and Philippine enterprises
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi witnessed the signing ceremony of a business cooperation agreement to export cement and clinker to the Philippines market between Vietnam Cement Corporation (VICEM) in collaboration with two importing enterprises, Fenix Company (CEZA) INT'L INC and Golden Falcon Trading Corporation. Under the Agreement, the parties agreed to cooperate in importing and exporting cement and clinker of VICEM to the Philippines market with an output of 6 million tons of cement and clinker within 3 years (from 2023-2025).
The Philippines is a large cement and clinker import market with about 15-17 million tons/year, about 7 million tons/year imported from Vietnam.
The signing of the Agreement opens up new prospects for Vietnamese enterprises to deeply participate in the Philippines' building materials market and contributes to promoting the close cooperation between two countries.
