Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi received and worked with new Korean ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Oh Young Ju on December 16th at the MoC’s headquarter, in presence of leaders of functional departments and agencies under MoC; representatives of Korean construction management units and typical contruction businesses in Vietnam.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi congratulated Ms.Oh Young Ju who appointed as the first female Ambassador to Vietnam by the Korean Government, and also highly appreciated the active role of the Korean Embassy in promoting cooperation in the field of construction between the two countries.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi thanked the Korean Government for helping Vietnam Ministry of Construction in building the legal system, policies, housing development (especially social housing); supporting ODA capital and construction technology… Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi believed that the good cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea would be maintained and promoted in the coming time. Minister Nghi emphasized the Korean embassy’s role in promoting cooperation in construction, training of managers, and facilitating cooperation for businesses of the two sides.

New Ambassador Oh Young Ju expressed her pleasure to visit and work with the Vietnam MoC and said that, the recent visit to Korea by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has elevated the two countries' relationship to a strategy partnership, including cooperation in the field of construction. The new Ambassador agreed with Minister Nghi’s point of view and affirmed that the Korean side readily supported Vietnam in social housing projects and ODA projects.
Ms. Oh Young Ju also asked the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam to support and remove difficulties and obstacles of Korean businesses and investors in the construction field in Vietnam.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi affirmed that Vietnam always welcomed investment from Korea and Ministry of Construction would coordinate functional departments to actively cooperation with Korean businesses to remove difficulties, so that the cooperation between the two sides could develop better. Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Ambassador Oh Young Ju agreed to have more visits and working sessions between the Korean Embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction in the future.
