Attending the Conference were Deputy Ministry of Construction Cao Lai Quang, Mr. Rolf Schulze, German Ambassador in Vietnam, leaders of the project - Technical University of Dresden, Mr. Nguyen Ton - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Water Supply, representatives of other departments of the Ministry of Construction, the experts of Germany and Vietnam in the fields of water supply and urban water supply companies.
At the conference, the Vietnam Association of Water Supply had the reports on the policies and regulations of Vietnam in the field of water supply and wastewater management, goals and challenges for strategic of Vietnam's urban water supply to 2025. Department of Infrastructure of Ministry of Construction had the reports on status of implementation of projects to build wastewater treatment plant in Vietnam. Germany experts to discussion on the experience of urban wastewater management, rain-water management, reimburse water artificial, drainage inspection and technological renovation of drainage system of the Federal Republic of Germany can be applied in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Cao Lai Quang said that in recent years, the Government of Vietnam has focused many resources for construction and improvement of urban infrastructure, including technical infrastructure of water supply. Many projects of urban water supply has been developed with the support of governments, international organizations, including the help of the German Government, thus contributing to gradually improve infrastructure urban drainage layer of Vietnam. But the fast economic development and urbanization process in Vietnam is creating pressure for urban infrastructure, especially in the field of water supply, drainage, wastewater treatment, waste and sanitation infrastructure in the water supply of Vietnam and the management of water supply in urban areas there are inadequate ... Through this conference, the practical experience of German experts in the field of urban water supply would be useful lessons for managers and the consultants in Vietnam.
